Covid-19: India reveals list of repatriation flights from the UAE

To date, more than 364,000 Indians have been flown home from over 50 countries.

Demand for repatriation flights to India amid the Covid-19 pandemic remains high among the country’s nationals in the Arabian Gulf, with thousands expected to be flown home throughout the course of July.

The fourth phase of the ‘Vande Bharat – or ‘Salute India’ – mission is slated to begin in the first days of July.

To date, more than 450,000 Indians have registered with Indian diplomatic missions in the UAE.

“We are committed to bringing back our remaining compatriots, particularly in the GCC countries,” Anurag Srivasta, Indian Ministry of Externa Affairs spokesman said. “This phase will particularly focus on countries where we still have a large number of Indians who have registered to return,” he added.

To date, more than 364,000 Indians have been flown home from over 50 countries.

On Saturday, the official website of the Vande Bharat mission updated its list of flights to include 47 from Bahrain, 15 from Oman and 59 from the UAE.
