Low-cost carrier flydubai says it will launch flights to Shymkent in Kazakhstan next month
Low-cost carrier flydubai has announced plans to launch flights to Shymkent in Kazakhstan next month.
The twice a week service will be offered from December 28, said the airline which has been flying to Kazakhstan since 2014 and operates a total of 13 weekly flights to three points in the country.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said: "We are pleased to see the strengthening of direct air links between the UAE and Kazakhstan, which provide more opportunities for the development of tourism and trade flows.”
Jeyhun Efendi, senior vice president Commercial Operations and E-commerce for flydubai, added: “We are looking forward to seeing more passengers flying to and from Kazakhstan. This market remains important for us and the new route will give passengers all over our network easier access to Kazakhstan as well as opening up the region for travel to Dubai and onwards.”
flydubai's growing network covers more than 90 destinations in 48 countries. Emirates will codeshare on this route as part of the Emirates flydubai partnership announced in July 2017.
