Lausanne saw a 15% increase in the number of tourists visiting from the GCC region last year
Lausanne Tourism is the newest destination to sign two cooperation agreements with Kanoo Travel and Dnata.The agreement includes the representation and promotion of the destination’s touristic opportunities, and travel packages within the GCC region.
The partnership with Kanoo Travel and Dnata makes it possible for Lausanne to reach millions across the GCC region, through marketing strategies and online tools.
The Director of GCC Markets at Lausanne Tourism, Walter Loser said the GCC market is was one of the most crucial sectors for Lausanne Tourism. He said there was a 15% increase in the number of tourists visiting from the region last year and expects it to increase following the signing of these agreements, which include targeted, family friendly packages.
Loser commented, “We expect a significant rise in the number of tourists from the GCC region, especially considering that the Holy Month of Ramadan falls early this year in May. This coincides with summer in Lausanne, also the most idyllic time to visit the city considering the pleasant temperatures and the bustling streets teeming with activities and programs perfect for those across all age groups.”
A Lausanne delegation met with more than 180 travel agents and tour operators to discuss multiple strategies for tourism packages crafted with the GCC family in mind. The tour started in Dubai, and took them across Ras Al Khaimah, Oman, Jeddah and Riyadh.
