The public’s first opportunity to see the rapidly evolving Expo 2020 Dubai site were fully booked out within three hours, according to officials.

On Tuesday, Expo announced the 'World’s Greatest Show in the Making’ tour, which will see bus tours depart from various locations across the UAE, three days per week, between Saturday July 20 and Saturday August 31.

While the first 3,300 spots were taken quickly, Expo officials said they are working to add more seats and will announce further plans soon.

UAE residents eager to attend can register their interest here and be notified when more seats become available.

Unprecedented opportunity

On board the tours, visitors will be taken on a ‘journey’ through the history of previous World Expos before headed to the Expo site in Dubai South.

There, they will be taken to the Expo 2020 Visitor Centre and enjoy F&B options and number of activities before re-boarding the bus for a tour of the site and its various structures.

“This is an unprecedented opportunity for people in the UAE to come with their friends and families and take an early look at our own incredible structures that will soon be known far and wide,” Manal AlBayat, Expo’s chief community engagement officer, said in the original announcement.

“We can’t wait to welcome the world in 2020, but before then, we look forward to welcoming people from across the UAE to experience our site,” she added.

A total of 25 million visits are expected over the course of the 173-day event, beginning in October 2020.
