The venue marks Ripley's first in the MENA region
The famed Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum plans to open in Dubai’s Global Village when the site opens to the public on October 29.
For Ripley Entertainment – which also owns Guinness World Records Attractions – the site will be the first in the MENA region. The museum will include attractions for both adults and children, including historical artefacts, animal oddities and pop-culture memorabilia.
Among the items on display will be the world’s only road-worthy wooden Ferrari – which is also amphibious – as well as the smallest assembly line manufactured road car, a Megalodon shark jaw and a large iron Gibeon meteorite.
“With the launch of each season of Global Village, we continuously strive to provide UAE audiences with out-of-this-world attractions and experiences,” said Bader Anwahi, the CEO of Global Village. “We are confident the weird and wonderful world of Ripley’s will leave a lasting impression on our guests.”
Victor Danau, director, Asia Pacific operations and development of Ripley Entertainment said that the launch of Ripley’s in Global Village is an “incredible achievement”.
“We are thrilled to be bringing over a ‘century of strange’ to UAE and Middle Eastern fans,” he added. “By partnering with Global Village to bring our unique brand of family fun to the Middle East, we believe this partnership will set a new standard for entertainment in the UAE, the region.”
Over 14 million people visit Ripley’s Believe It or Not’s attractions over 100 attractions in 10 countries each year.
