Bad weather forces Dubai's Global Village to close

Management at multicultural festival park make decision to close on Saturday due to 'prevailing weather conditions'

Bad weather forces Dubai's Global Village to close
Global Village will re-open on Sunday.

Dubai's Global Village will remain closed on Saturday due to bad weather.

"Due to prevailing weather conditions and in the interest of comfort of guests and all partners working on site, Global Village management has decided that the park will remain closed today," a statement said.

The multicultural festival park will re-open on Sunday at 4pm and will be open until midnight, it added.

The decision came as parts of Dubai suffered water logging after heavy rain overnight. Cloudy and rainy weather is expected to continue throughout Saturday.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology, areas that will see rainfall include eastern parts of Abu Dhabi, Dubai Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, the Jais mountains, Umm Al Quwain and the islands in the northeastern regions of the country.
