Sharjah's JRCC inks deal with Marriott International

Expected to open in 2023, Courtyard by Marriott Sharjah will be located close to the convention centre and will signal JRCC’s expansion into the hotel industry.

Al Jawaher Reception & Convention Centre (JRCC) has announced that it has signed an agreement with Marriott International to bring the Courtyard by Marriott brand to Sharjah.

Expected to open in 2023, Courtyard by Marriott Sharjah will be located close to the convention centre and will signal JRCC’s expansion into the hotel industry.

Hanan Al Mahmoud, CEO of JRCC, said: “The agreement with Marriott International is designed to strategically position us as an integrated and comprehensive hospitality services provider for all our clients and visitors attending official or private events hosted at JRCC, and is in line with our objectives to contribute to the fast-growing tourism sector in Sharjah.”

The hotel will comprise 180 rooms including a royal suite for VIP guests.

Facilities are expected to include a spa, a gymnasium, a lounge, a multi-cuisine restaurant and MICE facilities.

The hotel will also offer flexible spaces to work, network and relax, a statement said.

“We are delighted to be working with JRCC to bring Courtyard by Marriott to Sharjah,” said Jerome Briet, chief development officer, Middle East and Africa, Marriott International. “The hotel will be a significant addition to our rapidly growing portfolio in the UAE and underscores the traction our brands are gaining.”
