The upcoming Arabian Travel Market event in Dubai is scheduled to go ahead, despite a wave of postponements of other events as a result of the ongoing coronavirus epidemic, according to its organisers.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre between Sunday, April 19 and Wednesday, April 22.
In a statement to Arabian Business, the show’s organisers said that the event “is scheduled to go ahead as planned”.
“The safety of all our participants is an absolute priority and we are monitoring the Covid-19 situation closely and liaising with the relevant United Arab Emirates and Dubai authorities on a regular basis,” the statement said. “We will keep you informed of any new developments.”
The annual B2B event brings over 39,000 travel professionals, government officials and journalists together every year.
While around the region many events have announced cancellations or postponements amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Some, however, have announced that they will proceed as planned.
The upcoming Middle East Film and Comic Con – which is scheduled to take place between March 5 and 7 – is also going to go ahead as planned, although thermal cameras and hand sanitising stations have been put in place.
