Saudi Arabia has executed 28 people already this year. Last year it executed 78, according to news reports
Two Saudi men were executed on Sunday after being convicted of separate murders, the Interior Ministry said.
Yussef Al Afii was convicted of shooting dead fellow Saudi Salman Al Rabii after a dispute, the Saudi Press Agency quoted a ministry statement as saying. He was beheaded in the western city of Taif.
Abdessalam Al Ruili was executed in Arar, in the kingdom’s north, for stabbing to death Abdessalam Al Anzi following an altercation, the ministry said.
There have now been 28 executions in Saudi Arabia this year, according to a tally by news agency AFP.
Last year, 78 people were executed in the kingdom.
