UAE agrees open skies with Georgia

All UAE carriers can now fly freely to Georgia after an open skies deal was recently agreed.

All UAE carriers can now fly freely to Georgia after an open skies deal was recently agreed.

The deal, which also allows Georgian airlines to operate without restriction to the UAE, was signed by representatives from both countries.

Captain Aysha Al Hamili, air transport manager at UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, was present. Meanwhile, Mamuka Vatsadze, head of the transport department for the Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia, also attended.

This agreement permits unlimited capacities, frequencies and routes between each country. It also enables carriers to operate all aircraft types, whether leased or owned, for passenger and cargo services.

Other benefits include full fifth freedom traffic rights for services between the countries.

With all flights across the globe governed by national sovereignty, every carrier is subject to legal restrictions on air traffic. But establishing freedoms with other nations removes the limits, allowing airlines to move freely across other countries.
