The UAE on Monday announced details of the New Year holidays for employees in the public sector.
UAE’s federal ministries and entities will be closed on Sunday, January 1, 2012, a circular issued by the Federal Government Human Resources Authority said.
However, work will resume on Monday, January 2, the statement added.
Labour minister Saqr Ghobash Saeed Ghobash later announced Jan 1 as a public holiday for the private sector as well.
The UAE's banking sector will remain closed on Jan 1, according to a central bank circular.
Great news for UAE. Now I wish for Qatar to introduce a New Year's Holiday. Qatar is the only place I have ever worked where New Years isn't celebrated.
Agree with the above , no doubt we might get it here in the next 50 years !
Men will be on Mars first !
