UAE confirms public and private sector holiday on April 23

Second statement confirms the private sector workers will also have the holiday

UAE confirms public and private sector holiday on April 23

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has announced that both public and private sector workers will have a holiday on Sunday April 23 to mark 'Israa and Miraj', which brings the holiday forward by one day.

The ministry had earlier announced the holiday for the public sector, and has since issued a further statement to confirm that the private sector will also have a holiday on April 23.

Work will resume on Monday April 24.

The change in date from Monday to Sunday was made under UAE laws that allow for official holidays that fall between two working days to be moved to the beginning or end of the week.
