UAE to get its own health information exchange network

Newly established iCT Health will provide technology solutions for regional healthcare industry

UAE-based Imtac Technologies has set up a new company to provide technology solutions for the region’s healthcare industry.

Based in Dubai Healthcare City, iCT Health will also undertake the setup of a health information exchange network that will connect healthcare regulatory authorities, healthcare providers, insurance companies, pharmacies and residents in the UAE.

The integrated network will be developed in partnership with top companies including Oracle and HP.

The company plans to launch a series of solutions based on the software-as-a-service (SAAS) framework, along with transaction fee-based pricing models, each complying with numerous healthcare standards and quality measures.

Estimating $2.5 billion in healthcare claims to be processed every year in Dubai alone, iCT Health foresees playing a key role in making processing technology available to healthcare providers for a nominal fee per patient. The application will help shed light on common illnesses and health trends in the UAE, derived from data collected anonymously.
