Countries which import and export contractual labour will meet in Abu Dhabi to discuss welfare issues.
Countries which import and export contractual labour are to meet in the UAE later this month to discuss issues around labour welfare.
The Fourth Ministerial Consultations on Overseas Employment and Contractual Labour for Countries of Origin in Labour, otherwise known as the Colombo Process, will be held in Abu Dhabi for the first time on January 21.
Representatives from 22 countries are expected to attend with representatives from labour supply countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam. Labour importers include GCC countries and Yemen, Japan, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea and Singapore.
