UAE’s EPI to supply Airbus with aircraft components

Emirates Precision Industries to supply machined metallic parts to plane co.

In a first of its kind deal for the UAE, Emirates Precision Industries (EPI), has signed an agreement with Airbus, to supply the plane maker with machined metallic components for all Airbus programmes.

EPI is a subsidiary of Tawazun Holding Co of the Offset Program Bureau (OPB), newswire WAM reported on Friday.

Commenting on this qualitative national success, Saif Mohammed Al Hajeri, CEO of Tawazen Holding Company, said:'' We are delighted and excited at reaching an understanding this Airbus and look forward to beginning o supply Airbus with a wide range of components".

''The partnership of the EPI with Airbus underlines that our national industries are eliciting increasing interest from the major world aircraft Manufacturers,' he said, adding that ''It's a historic moment to see our national products foraying into large international markets for civilian and military aircrafts.''

EPI CEO Moatesm Awda, lauded the agreement as an important milestone in the history of EPI, saying it would provide an additional enthusiasm and catalyst to expand into international markets.

He further explained the Airbus experts have reviewed EPI's capabilities and acknowledged that the EPI is capable of manufacturing its products in conformity with the highest international best practices and standards for the best service of the aviation industries.

''A new novel marketing plan targeting international markets of parts and components of structures of civilian and military aircrafts will be announced shortly,'' Awda disclosed.

''We are on the process to undertake an ambitious expansion plan to triple our current production capacity in the next four years,' he added.

Dr.Lee London, director of international cooperation at Airbus, said ''We are proud to have reached this landmark agreement with EPI and it reflects not only Airbus' commitment to EPI by the UAE as a whole.”
