Low-cost carrier says cheaper fares will apply on travel between March 10 and March 25 in 2017
Low-cost carrier flydubai has announced reduced fares of up to 50 percent on select flights booked before midnight on March 14.
The discounts apply for travel between March 10 and March 25 2017, the airline said in a statement, adding that this is the first time that it has launched a sale for an extended travel period.
No further details were given.
Earlier this month flydubai posted a 60 percent drop in 2015 net profit, as tough market conditions, the airline's fuel hedging policy and the impact from a stronger dollar outweighed higher revenue.
Flydubai made a net profit of 100.7 million dirham ($27.4 million) in 2015, down from 250 million dirhams a year earlier.
The airline said its overall yield in terms of per Revenue Passenger Kilometre - a leading gauge in the industry - was pressured by factors including the strong dollar and the cost of launching new routes.
Is this correct? "March 10 and March 25 2017, " or should it be March 10, 2016 and March 25 2017, as i already see discounts for May 2016 flights
