Food retailer says it is opening first restaurant in Marassi; plans to follow up with 85 more in next few years
UAE-based food retailer Just Falafel has announced that it is expanding its reach in Egypt as part of an aggressive overseas growth plan.
Just Falafel said it will be opening in the upmarket resort of Marassi, adding that it plans to follow up with 85 more over the next few years.
The move is part of the brand's rapid expansion both within the GCC and internationally. The global roll out will see up to 44 more restaurants open this year as Just Falafel increases its presence in key markets such as the USA, Canada, Australia and India.
The group said it has sold over 20 million falafels and is set to increase this significantly over the coming months.
Just Falafel’s 8th restaurant in Egypt will be launched by Healthy Franchising, owned by Waleed Abouraya, who is the master franchisee for Just Falafel in Egypt. The company currently runs six restaurants in Cairo.
Last month Just Falafel said it is set to roll out in 18 countries across the globe, with recently announced plans to increase its presence in Oman with a deal to open 10 new outlets and plans to enter the Indian market.
Just Falafel also announced it has expanded in Australia by opening its doors in the country's largest railway station in Sydney.
In June, Just Falafel also announced the signing of a deal to roll out 10 new stores in Texas, as part of its aggressive expansion plans in the United States.
The expansion will see restaurants opening initially in Houston, followed by further stores in Austin.
