Company says to enter new markets to grow Mstore from 300 shops to over 2,000 by 2020

UAE's Midcom plans major Mstore brand expansion in Africa

Midcom Group, a diversified conglomerate headquartered in the UAE, has announced an expansion of its retail operations by growing the Mstore brand from 300 outlets to over 2,000 outlets by 2020.

The expansion will make Mstore the largest mobile and electronics retailer in Africa, it said in a statement.  

Mstore currently has a presence across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana and Togo. Expansion will see the store increase its presence in these markets and enter new countries, including Chad, Ivory Coast and Senegal, the statement said.

Akash Kumar, Midcom Group’s managing director, said: “The expansion of Mstore is the latest realisation of that growth strategy, which any other international organisation moving into these markets would struggle to replicate.

“The expansion of Mstore will support another of our businesses, Fero, the line of mobile phones we recently launched, by providing full sales and technical support to Fero customers across our markets.”

Midcom Group’s new Fero range of mobile phones are designed in the UAE specifically for Africa and Middle East markets, offering 16 models.

Mstore also provides technical support for customers facing issues with their devices, with a 48 hour turnaround time guarantee to resolve customer issues.
