NMC Royal Hospital will set up a nephrology unit to pioneer private sector's kidney transplant programs
NMC Healthcare has unveiled UAE's largest private sector hospital - the $200 million NMC Royal Hospital at Khalifa City in Abu Dhabi.
The multispecialty hospital with 500 beds is ready to serve the nation as a quaternary care, referral centre hospital, the company said in a statement.
NMC Royal Hospital will set up a nephrology unit that will, besides dialysis, pioneer the private sector's kidney transplant programs.
The 75,000 sq m NMC Royal Hospital will also provide world-class emergency, critical and acute cardiovascular care, it added.
Dr B R Shetty, executive vice chairman and CEO of NMC Healthcare, said: "The opening of the hospital brings long-awaited state-of-the-art medical services, healthcare facilities and emergency care to the residents of Abu Dhabi and the UAE at large."
He said the emergency department at NMC Royal Hospital is set to raise the standard of care in the management of acute emergencies.
"NMC Royal Hospital is equipped with the most advanced technology, and its medical staff are trained in best global healthcare practices delivering quality healthcare."
NMC Royal Hospital's cutting edge technology includes a fully automated laboratory track system that can process up to 25,000 samples a day and over 200 different tests can be done in a single workflow.

He added that NMC Healthcare has a combined strength of 8,000 employees and 1,000 doctors working across its facilities.
