The final of the Seedstars World competition takes place in Geneva in February, with a UAE start-up bidding for the USD500,000 prize
A UAE start-up is set to take part in the final of global competition which will see the winner collect funding of up to USD500,000.
The Seedstars World competition takes place in Geneva on 4 February, featuring 20 winners from regional heats across the globe, which attracted 1,000 participants.
The winner of the Dubai competition was TourBud, a virtual tour guide service founded by Rafael Harutyunyan, which beat fourteen rivals to first place in March last year.
TourBud will now make its final pitch to a panel of judges, alongside winners from Moscow, Baku, Accra, Kigali, Lagos, Nairobi, Cape Town, Bangalore, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo, Sydney, Mexico City, Santiago, Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro.
Each company’s pitch, presentation, and website will contribute to the jury’s final decision, with the winner taking home a potential prize of USD500,000 in funding to help develop their business.
