UAE, US review trade talks progress

The two countries talk trade, economic relations and joint investment ventures during US treasury visit.

Progress on free trade talks was at the centre of discussions yesterday during a US treasury visit to the UAE.

UAE minister of economy, Shaikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, also discussed economic relations and joint investment opportunities with US treasury undersecretary David H McCormick, emirates news agency WAM reported.

Shaikha Lubna told McCormick the current investment environment was conducive to attracting more US capital to the UAE.

The US official commended strong economic ties between the countries, stressing the importance of developing bilateral relations.
