A home grown global brand – and cricket – are what Shaji Ul Mulk lists as his “small contribution” to the UAE economy and the world of sports.
As he received the Arabian Business Achievement Award in Dubai last night, the founder of Sharjah-based multi-conglomerate Mulk Holdings credited the emirates for giving him the opportunity to build his life.
“All I can say is this, the UAE, is my home because I came here 35 years ago and the country has given me everything,” Ul Mulk said.
The Indian businessman’s company is best known for its flagship brand, Alubond USA, the world’s largest metal composite brand and the first aluminium composite panel in the UAE market.
“We are very proud that starting from the UAE, today the brand that I promote has become one of the world’s largest cladding brands,” he said.
Meanwhile, an avid cricket promoter, Ul Mulk has just launched a new format of the game in the UAE.
“The passion that we share in the family for cricket also started from the UAE and is now taking the sporting world by storm because we’ve now launched, for the first time ever in the world, 90 minutes cricket,” he shared.
“That’s our small contribution to both cricket and the economy.”For all the latest UAE news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
