Popstar Lily Allen closes Lucy In Disguise store in London after less than a year of trad
Sales of Lily Allen’s vintage clothing line in Dubai could be scrapped following news the British singer’s has closed her London fashion store after just 10 months of trading.
An extension of the fashion line ‘Lucy In Disguise’ was launched in Dubai in May, with clothes from the shop’s collections selling at outlets of luxury fashion chain Boutique 1.
Sources close to the retailer said Lucy In Disguise had yet to instruct Boutique 1 on the future of the label, but said that its Autumn–Winter collection would be available in Dubai.
Boutique 1 declined to comment when contacted by Arabian Business.
Lily Allen, 26, launched her vintage clothing shop in London in partnership with her half sister Sarah Owen last year.
In preparation for a star-studded opening, the pair documented their move into retail on UK television, in the programme ‘From Riches to Rags’.
The sisters came to Dubai in May to celebrate the launch of their line at an invite-only party at Boutique 1′s Jumeirah Beach Residence store.
The Lucy In Disguise designs were expected to be stocked in luxury department stores worldwide including Le Bon Marché in France, Shopbop.com in the US, Lane Crawford in Hong Kong, and Harvey Nichols in London. For all the latest retail news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
