Up close and customisable with adaptive technology

Adaptive Recognition is presenting the newest generation of its compact ePassport readers at GITEX Technology Week.

Adaptive Recognition is presenting the newest generation of its compact ePassport readers at GITEX Technology Week.

The company, which is based in Hungary, specialises in the design and manufacture of passport readers and the related software technologies.

The readers serve a variety of purposes and are configured to read a range of electronic documents including e-passports, driver's licenses and health insurance cards.

This technology's compatibility with a spread of applications means it may be used for such diverse purposes as immigration control and quality assurance.

A special feature of the new generation readers is their ability to capture images with high colour fidelity.

Additional upgrades to the products include new security features to ensure the validity and authenticity of a document. Patterns are automatically checked along with background printing checks and a host of other measures.

"The improvements on the readers mean that our partners can define the fields which they wish to read on the document," says company CEO Laszlo Kis.

"We can give our partners the ability to customise our software according to their specific market."
