US $54 million Vantage contract to be awarded in January 2009

Cirrus Developments expects the enabling, shoring and piling contract for the new US $54.5 million (AED2 billion) Vantage Tower at Dubai's Waterfront to be awarded in January.

Cirrus Developments expects the enabling, shoring and piling contract for the new US $54.5 million (AED2 billion) Vantage Tower at Dubai's Waterfront to be awarded in January.

Chief operating officer Rehan Khan said the main contract would be awarded to a list of pre-qualified contractors shortly after.

Construction is expected to start in March and take 36 months, he said.

Located within the Madinat Al Arab district of Waterfront the 50-storey tower will offer a range of high-end apartments and townhouses as well as a retail boulevard and several restaurants at its base.

The chairman and CEO of Cirrus Developments, Behnam Eshragh, said investor response to the new building was already proving strong.

He also said that the building aimed to achieve Leed gold accreditation, the second highest international standard for green building codes.

In addition, solar panels will be placed on the roof to produce enough power for all the common areas of the tower, he said.

Designed by architect firm TVS International the Vantage will be 185m tall on completion with a built up area of 55,750m2.

The Vantage follows the announcement of Aquarius Gate, another Cirrus project that was launched this year.

Aquarius Gate comprises of two towers - one residential and one commercial - and is also located in Madinat Al Arab.
