US allies must ‘squeeze the heart’ of ISIL in Iraq, Syria, says Biden

US Vice President Joe Biden said that the US and its allies would "squeeze the heart" of “criminals and cowards" in in Iraq and Syria, at a gathering in Abu Dhabi on Monday.

Within his latest official visit to the Middle East, Biden visited the UAE to meet with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and visited Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Masdar City, among many other engagements in Abu Dhabi.

"We have to squeeze the heart of Daesh [ISIL] in Iraq and Syria so they can't continue to pump their poison in the region and around the world.

"You control the skies over Iraq and Syria and, as a matter of fact, you control the skies over the whole damn world," Biden said while addressing a gathering in Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Mohammed and Biden discussed boosting bilateral ties and a number of regional issues, including the Syrian crisis, the fight against terrorism and Yemen.
