The Dubai chapter of the US Chamber of Commerce has established a voting centre ahead of the US elections in November.

The American Business Council of Dubai and the Northern Emirates have set up the facility at its Dubai headquarters at Emarat Atrium building near Safa Park.

It has created facility for the first time to prepare absentee ballots from the UAE ahead of the November 8 polling day, reported Gulf News.

US expats can fill out application forms before absentee ballots are later sent to the centre for them to collect. Expats can send the ballots to the US or drop them off at the US Consulate in Dubai or US Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

The council, which represents 700 US businesses and employees in the UAE who make up the UAE’s 55,000 US expats, says it has seen a rise in enquiries from US citizens on how to vote from abroad.
