US oil company ExxonMobil has increased its 2006 proven reserves by more than 1.9 billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe).

US oil company ExxonMobil has increased its 2006 proven reserves by more than 1.9 billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe). The company said most of this has come from the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions.

The extra reserves raise ExxonMobil's total proven reserves to 22.7 billion barrels with a reserve life of 14.2 years at current production rates. The company's total production for 2006 was 1.6 billion boe.
