US Robotics establishes MENA headquarters in Dubai

US Robotics is promoting itself as the ‘Internet access company’ as it establishes a regional headquarters for the Middle East & North Africa in Dubai.

US Robotics is promoting itself as the ‘Internet access company’ as it establishes a regional headquarters for the Middle East & North Africa in Dubai. The company is also keen to re-establish its market name following its breakaway from 3Com last year.

The Dubai office will be responsible for handling the modem manufacturers operations, management and growth across the region, as well as dealing with partners and customer service. The move will also see the company set up a technical support and customer base centre in the region.

“The Middle East is a market that we have been watching for a while. We feel that this is the right time for us to establish a direct presence in this important and dynamic region,” said Luis Baptista-Coelho, territory sales manager, business development group, US Robotics.

The company is also looking to extend its product offerings beyond internal modems, ISDN and OEM technologies and move into DSL, cable, wireless and home networking markets.

“While analog modems are an integral part of our business, we are expanding US Robotics’ product line with the high speed access solutions to cater to the growing need for broadband both on the consumer and on the business sides,” added Baptista-Coelho.
