Award-winning production performances extended to May 25
Disney and Cameron Mackintosh announced they will extend multi award-winning musical Mary Poppins, which will play in Dubai until May 25, due to demand for tickets.
The extension will include four extra matinee performances, which commenced on May 1. We take a look at a time lapse video of the show’s workings.
Leading the cast in the role of ‘Mary Poppins’ will be Zizi Strallen and Matt Lee as ‘Bert’, Neil Roberts as ‘George Banks’; Penelope Woodman as ‘Miss Andrew’; Wendy Ferguson as ‘Mrs Brill’; Grainne Renihan as ‘Bird Woman’ and Blair Anderson as ‘Robertson Ay’.
Dubai Opera’s chief executive Jasper Hope said: “More than 35,000 people in November were treated to Les Miserables, a truly incredible production by Cameron Mackintosh at Dubai Opera. I’m expecting all of those and more to want to see what he and Disney and this brilliant cast have in store for us with Mary Poppins – it is going to raise the bar even higher.”
The stage production of Mary Poppins is co-created by Cameron Mackintosh and has a script by Oscar-winning screenwriter and “Downton Abbey” creator, Julian Fellowes.
