Video: The region's first waste-to-energy plant - Bee'ah Masdar joint venture

The UAE and wider Middle East is in a period of massive transformation. Economic and population expansion are both driving demand and consuming resources. And this growth, coupled with our modern, consumer-based lifestyle, creates new sustainability challenges across the region.

Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO of Bee’ah, and Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, both lead sustainability companies that are developing technological solutions to meet these demands.

The two companies came together to form the Emirates Waste to Energy Company (EWTE), which will help divert waste from landfills and provide a new source of energy. In this joint interview, they talk about the opportunities to develop this new sector in the UAE and beyond.
