The whole of last week saw some crazy inventions being revealed in fields ranging from artificial intelligence, robotics, future mobility and so on. How crazy? Flying car crazy. Floating smart police station crazy. High-tech horse saddle crazy.
This year, like most years, there were a lot of cool tech on display. Let me start with possibly one of the biggest crowd magnet – the 5G powered Lazareth LM847.
What is it? A motorcycle, which was much more than just a motorcycle. Powered by 5G, four jet turbines, and a 5.2 litre Maserati V8 engine, this motorcycle delivers 470 brake horse power and switch from riding mode to flight mode in just 60 seconds — at just a press of a button.
Absolutely unaffordable for someone with just a day job like me, this beast is priced at USD 560,000. But, the catch is how exactly is it going to be licensed to run on Dubai’s roads because to use flight mode, you need to be trained and licensed. Only time will tell, I guess.
With 5G being the buzzword used by every one of the tech companies in the world, Etisalat knew they had to do something spectacular and they pretty much nailed it.
The flying car “Pop.Up Next” is the first fully electric and zero-emission modular system that brings together road mobility and air transport.
