How 'Making a Murderer' was made

The documentary series "Making a Murderer" has been capturing attention around the world since it was released by Netflix at the end of last year

Set in Wisconsin in the US it tells the story of Steven Avery who was imprisoned for 18 years before being exonerated for a rape he did not commit. Just two years after his release, Avery was arrested for murdering another woman - and was convicted.\n\nThe filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos have spent years working on his story and they've been talking to BBC's Jamie Coomarasamy about why they decided to embark on such a controversial project.\n\n(BBC News YouTube channel)
