W Hotels to open property in trendy Istanbul district

W Hotels Worldwide has announced plans to open a property in Istanbul in late 2007.

The W Istanbul is being developed in the trendy Besiktas district of the Turkish capital, famous for its shops, restaurants, bars and cafes, and located near to tourist attractions in the Old City.

“The surfacing of world-class restaurants, art galleries and luxury retailers in the city contribute to Istanbul’s emergence as a favourite international business and leisure destination,” explained W Hotels president, Ross Klein.

The property will comprise 130 rooms and suites, some of which will have their own private gardens.

All rooms will be fitted with signature W beds, including feather-top mattresses, 350 thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets and goose down comforters.

The third floor common areas will offer views of the Bosphorus, the stretch of water splitting the city in two, connecting the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara.
