Wade Adams makes grade

Wade Adams awarded grading contract at Dubai Sports City.

Wade Adams Contracting Company has bagged the advanced grading works contract at Dubai Sports City (DSC), with work scheduled to start immediately.

During the advanced grading works, which are expected to take up to 90 days, over 100 bull dozers, earth moving machines and other heavy plant vehicles will move almost five million m3 of sand to enable full construction on the site to commence.

At a ceremony to mark the signing of the contract, Khalid Al Zarooni, President of Dubai Sports City said: “We are delighted to award this contract to Wade Adams Contracting.

“This is a company with an excellent track-record having worked on a number of prestigious development projects in and around the Middle East. Dubai Sports City is an ambitious project and it is imperative that we work with the best contractors from the start in order to ensure a strong foundation for construction.”

Dubai Sports City is part of the US $5 billion (AED 18 billion) Dubailand project.

The first phase of the development, which includes the stadia, sports academies, Victory Heights Golf Course and residential development, international schools and shopping mall, is set for completion by the end of 2007.
