Rollercoaster that operates on a 102km/h speed will open in March
A new ride in Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will give guests a chance to be Ferrari test drivers for a day, according to the venue's manager.
The “Turbo Track” rollercoaster, which is set to open by the end of March, comprises a three-stage experience 64 meters above Yas Island.
Starting in a briefing room in the Ferrari Driving Academy, the ride will include on-screen training and performance analysis. Guests will then board the rollercoaster at a speed of 102km/h.
“Not only does this unique ride offer heart-pounding thrills for all riders, it also gives them the chance to see the world through the eyes of a Ferrari test driver, creating once again a strong connection with the legendary brand,” said Jesse Vargas, General Manager, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.
Adults and children alike will be able to try the ride, which is the third to be launched by the amusement park in the past 12 months.
It creation saw a 16sqm opening created in the glass funnel in the center of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.
The top of the 64-meter-high track became Yas Island’s highest point and was created by the same team that built the world’s fastest rollercoaster, the park’s Formula Rossa.
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi was the first Ferrari-branded theme park to be built in the world. It opened its doors to fans in November 2010.
Some of its attractions include triple record-breaking rollercoaster, Flying Aces as well as a karting academy, junior training camp and driving Experience.
