Low pressure, windy conditions expected to continue until late on Monday

Weather warning for drivers in the UAE
Several people on Twitter warned of poor visibility on the roads in Dubai, on the Sheikh Zayed Road.

Police in Abu Dhabi and authorities in
Dubai have warned motorists of potentially poor driving conditions, as rain and
sand storm affects parts of the UAE.

Abu Dhabi Police posted a tweet warning
drivers of worsening driving conditions, with dust caused by high winds
resulting causing visibility problems.

“Reduced visibility due to dust on
different areas in Abu Dhabi and highways. Motorists are urged to drive with
caution.”

An earlier tweet warned of light to medium
rain in parts of Abu Dhabi.

The country’s National Centre for
Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS), speaking to Emirates 24/7, said a low
pressure in the south west part of the UAE has resulted in the changing weather
conditions.

“This weather pattern is expected to
continue for the next 36 hours, with rainfall also expected tomorrow,
especially in Al Ain, the Eastern region and possibly Fujairah tomorrow.

“The dust storms are also expected to
continue, reducing horizontal visibility to approximately 2km across areas.”

Meanwhile, several people on Twitter warned
of poor visibility on the roads in Dubai, on the Sheikh Zayed Road.
