US stars will perform in emirate on Sept 26 as part of focus on global music industry, Timbaland to headline Dubai Music Week

Global pop star and renowned producer Timbaland will headline Dubai Music Week, the region’s first music industry tradeshow and conference, it was announced on Wednesday.

The performance of the Black Eyed Peas' front man and Timbaland, the master-mind producer of Justin Timberlake's 'The 20-20 Experience', will perform on September 26 at Dubai World Trade Centre Arena.

The concert is part of a series of events which provides a focus for the global music industry in the MENASA region, a statement said.

Dubai Music Week, presented by legendary Music Producer, Quincy Jones, is a series of events targeting music fans and the music industry in the region.

In addition to the headlining international talent, Quincy Jones will host a series of seminars given by celebrities and industry pioneers.

More headline performances and details of the seminar and conference programmes will be announced shortly, the statement said.

The first event of its kind in the region, Dubai Music Week is a venture between partners, Global Gumbo Group and Dubai World Trade Centre, in association with Dubai Calendar, Emirates and Pepsi.

Hamad bin Mejren, executive director of Business Tourism for Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, said: “Through Dubai Calendar we are excited to be partnering with Dubai Music Week to provide a focus for the global music industry in the region.

"The seminar and conference programmes will no doubt stimulate business, while the performances by and Timbaland are further examples of the world-class acts that residents of and visitors to Dubai can enjoy. Dubai Music Week once again cements Dubai’s position as a leading destination for mega events.”

Tickets for and Timbaland will be available in the coming days at Virgin Megastores and on, the statement added.
