Wind power record to start

Construction will begin soon on the country's largest wind power station - with a total installation capacity of 200MW - in southwest China's Huize County in Yunnan province, according to research released by Industrial Info Resources.

Construction will begin soon on the country's largest wind power station - with a total installation capacity of 200MW - in southwest China's Huize County in Yunnan province, according to research released by Industrial Info Resources.

Approximately US $259 million (CNY1.98 billion) is being invested in the project, which is a joint development by the Government of Huize County and Yunnan Power Investment New Energy Development Company.

The project will be developed in several stages and zones. The first stage, which is expected to begin in March 2008, will have an installation capacity of 48MW with an investment of around $64.9 million.
