The use of wire basket cable trays for cable distribution is increasing in the region thanks to shorter installation times.
The use of wire basket cable tray in the Middle East market is increasing report industry experts.
The product is an alternative to the solid steel trays traditionally used in the distribution of electrical cabling within buildings. It is made from a welded steel mesh and is easy to cut and bend on site, making it adaptable to most installations. It is already proving popular in Europe.
Contractors are looking to use the new product because it can be easier to install than older solid cable trays, which cuts installation times and leads to reduced costs. On site health and safety can also be improved as there is no need to weld the lengths of tray together and cutting can be carried out by a simple handsaw rather than a power tool.
Thomas Widegren, chair of distributor Cavotec commented: "Wire mesh cable trays take half the time to install and require less staff to do it. So not only do you save in manpower, but you save in man hours too."
