Woman killed in Dubai bus brawl

A woman was fatally stabbed during a fight with another female passenger on a bus in Dubai, it has been reported.

A verbal brawl erupted between the two women and ended when one of them stabbed the other in front of terrified passengers, according to a report in Emirates247.

The bus was travelling through Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) some days ago when the incident took place.

Eyewitnesses told the website that one of the women was standing and the other sitting down.

The bus driver reportedly warned the two women to stop fighting or he would call the police.

However, despite his warning, the standing woman reportedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the other, killing her almost instantly.

According to the report, the driver locked the bus and passengers were not allowed to get out of the bus until police arrived.

The woman has been detained by Dubai Police.

The newspaper said an RTA spokesperson confirmed the incident took place a few afternoons ago. Arabian Business has contacted RTA and Dubai Police for further information.

The cause of the fight is not known.
