A new membership has recently been launched at The Aviation Club in Dubai to cater for busy housewives in need of some mid-morning pampering. For AED 3000 (US $817) per year, the off-peak membership gives ladies access to the club’s fitness facilities every day of the week.
For the equivalent of just AED 10 ($2.70) a day, ladies can work out in the gym or relax around the two-tiered, temperature-controlled swimming pool.
In addition to access to the pool, the membership includes use of squash courts and gymnasium, where a team of fitness instructors will conduct a free assessment and put together a bespoke fitness programme and diet regime for guests, with several free regular follow-up sessions throughout the year.
For ladies whose target areas are hips and thighs, the club’s new Stepmill cardio machine is an efficient way to burn unwanted fat. The machine works like a staircase, working the whole body to help burn more calories in less time.
The design of the new Stepmill reduces the risk of injury since there is no impact on the heels, and users can easily control the time, speed and level of the exercise.
After a workout, ladies can take advantage of some of the other benefits offered with off-peak membership, which include discounts in the various restaurants at The Aviation Club and Century Village and the Top Style Hair Salon and Nail Spa.
With an additional 25% discount on all treatments at Akaru Spa, where a new generation of body wraps are on offer, members can also enjoy a relaxing full-body treatment.
Akaru’s new wrap works on both the skin and muscles using products from Thalgo. The Body Shaper wrap gives immediate inch loss, while the Detoxifying wrap stimulates and re-energises and the Hydrating wrap has a calming effect and leaves skin glowing.
Once the body wrap is applied, the client lies down in the Alpha Oxyspa capsule, which diffuses oxygen to all seven trillion body cells, using a dry sauna effect to create a choice of 18 different programmes. After the treatment, guests can relax in the lounge where they can enjoy a fruit platter and refreshments.
Other treatments on offer at the Akaru spa include a hydration treatment designed especially to counter the effects of Dubai’s harsh summer climate. The refreshing Decleor Integral Facial boosts the skin’s hydration level, while at the same time offering deep relaxation.
The treatment lasts for 75 minutes and starts with a 10-minute digit pressure-point back massage to help face muscles relax and take in the treatment that follows. It includes a combined duo mask for increased efficiency and glowing results.
