Work has started on a $199 million residential real estate project in Saudi Arabia which will be home to more than 500 expat families when completed in October 2016.
Development manager Gulf Related said it has commenced the main construction of the Antara project in Al-Dir'iyyah in Riyadh Province.
Dr Karim El Solh, co-managing partner of Gulf Related, said: "Antara is a unique, premium residential project by virtue of its excellent location, careful planning, experienced development managers and the support of the Al-Dir'iyyah Governorate and municipality. It is expected to establish a new benchmark in quality living for expatriates in the kingdom."
Antara is a large integrated development that comprises a built-up area of 98,115 square metres, consisting of 520 homes in a park-like landscape.
Other facilities will consist a utility building, security gates and guardhouses, car parking, landscaping, and pedestrian paths, with 40 percent of the total development committed to open areas, lush green landscaping, cycling tracks and children's play areas.
Khaldoun Tabari, CEO and vice chairman of Drake & Scull International which has been hired to build the project, said: "We are excited to start the main works on the Antara project which marks a significant milestone for our impressive track record in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, our biggest market in the region."
Saudi Arabia is a second home country for 8.5 million expats around the world. In that 8.5 million expats few of them bring their families either in visit or in permanent. This project will be a plus in this calculations.
