Four workers were injured when an accident occurred along Warah oil pipeline in eastern Kuwait, said Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).Investigations have begun to determine the cause of the incident which left the workers needing hospital treatment.

In a press release, KOC said three of the workers were slightly wounded, and the fourth suffered injuries of medium severity in the incident on Friday, Kuwait News Agency reported.

It said that the accident, which occurred at 11pm, resulted from the formation of a gas bubble in the pipeline, where the workers were conducting maintenance operations.

The situation had been contained, the company added, and the wounded were taken to hospital for treatment, adding that a technical committee was formed to investigate the matter.
