The Blue is expected to sell for around $21-25m
The world's largest blue diamond – imaginatively named The Blue – will be sold at an auction by Christie’s in Geneva on May 14.
Weighing 13.22 carats, the diamond will be the star attraction at Christie’s Magnificent Jewels auction at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in Geneva later this month.
The Orange - the largest fancy vivid orange diamond in the world – sold for $35.5m at a previous Christie’s event six months ago.
The sale was a world record for an orange diamond and a world auction record price per carat for any diamond at $2.4m.
The Blue is expected to sell for around $21-25m and will be one of 250 lots on offer.
Two days before the jewel sale, Christie’s Geneva will also present an auction of 440 legendary watches.
