Common along US highways, the first Super 8 hotel in EMEA opens in Riyadh, with 19 more planned for the kingdom
The world’s largest hotel group, Wyndham, has chosen the capital of Saudi Arabia to launch its economy brand in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
Super 8 Riyadh is the first of 20 hotels under the brand to be opened in Saudi Arabia over five years in an agreement with Saudi Automotive Services Company.
With 2,400 properties in the US, Canada, China and Brazil, Super 8 is the largest economy chain in the world.
The brand targets budget travellers and is often located along highways.
“The Super 8 Riyadh will serve as a comfortable place to rest for road travellers throughout the kingdom, making it ideal for the long highways and the growing number of car journeys in the market,” Wyndham Hotel Group senior vice president and managing director EMEA and Indian Ocean Rui Barros said.
Wyndham Hotel Group has 7,500 hotels in 69 countries under 15 brands including Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Ramada and Travelodge.
