Smartphone comes with a mini flash charger, which in 30mins can charge the device up to 75%.
The world’s slimmest phone and the first motorised rotating camera phone by OPPO were launched in the UAE on February 2.
OPPO, the Chinese global phone manufacturer, has created a 4.85mm ultra-thin, stainless steel smartphone, the R5, as well as a 206b rotating camera phone, the N3.
“We are very pleased to introduce the OPPO N3 and R5 to the UAE as these two flagships models demonstrate our commitment to design, innovation, and dedication to the region,” said OPPO’s GCC regional sales manager, Henry Tang. “The N3 and R5 were created with users in mind, addressing consumer needs by creating and materializing the best technology.”
Despite the two obvious features of the R5 and N3, their most interesting feature is the VOOC mini flash charger, which in 30 minutes can charge the phone up to 75 percent.
“Battery life has become a major concern with the customer,” said OPPO’s product manager, Chris Zhu, “but with the OPPO revolution…, [The R5 and N3] will be fully-charged in one hour.”
As for the processors, the R5 runs on a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor, which is composed of two quad-core processors; one for power consumption optimisation and one for high performance.
Its screen is a 5.2 inch Super AMOLED full HD display with 1080P resolution. It also has 180b visibility, which means the screen is readable and clearly visible from any angle.
Its camera, a Schneider Kreuznach 13-megapixel, delivers 50 megapixel high definition picture clarity that is backed up by OPPO’s PureImage 2.0+ technology.
The R5 also comes with an O-music Bluetooth accessory for music and photos.
The N3, however, runs on a 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core CPU. It’s unique selling point is its automated 206b rotating camera, which is 16 megapixel and can take panoramic shots.
Its screen is 5.5-inch full HD, and is made of Corning Gorilla Glass, a break-proof and scratch-proof glass.
The phone itself is made of an aluminium alloy frame, and comes with a Dual SIM option.
Interestingly, on the back of the N3 is a Touch Access feature, where, by fingerprint, a user can access multiple applications and features.
Available at Jumbo Electronics and Sharaf DG in the UAE, the R5 is selling for AED1899 ($517).
For a limited time, OPPO is offering an AED500 voucher to redeem on the phone or any other product from the two electronic shops.
The N3, however, is yet to arrive in the UAE, hopefully by the end of February, and its price is yet to be determined.
Other OPPO models available in the UAE include the Find7, Find7a, N1 mini, R1k, Yoyo, Joy, and Neo 3.
Since it entered the mobile market in 2008, OPPO has had a long history with serving customers in North America, Europe and Asia.
