Next generation solid ink printer makes colour printing as cheap as black and white says Xerox
Xerox has launched its first colour printer that uses the next-generation of its ‘solid ink' technology.
The Xerox Phaser 8860 color printer, which is now available in the Middle East and Africa region, makes colour printing as cheap as black and white, according to Xerox.
The new solid ink technology, which Xerox has been developing for the past five years, produces more pages per ink stick, making it two times less expensive than equivalent colour laser printers, according to the company.
Because the ink sticks do not come in a typical cartridge form, they also produce 90% less waste than comparable laser printers.
Natesh Mani, director, Office Busines for Xerox MEA said: "By focusing our research on advancements in solid ink, we can now make printing a page in colour as inexpensive as black-and-white and at total costs that are much lower than comparable printers from other companies. Now, businesses can take the locks off the colour printer and depend on the affordable advantages of Xerox printers for all their printing needs - in any color. And, they can do it knowing the environmental advantages of solid ink significantly reduce waste."
