Zamil Air Conditioners has won contracts worth US $21 million (AED77 million) to provide climate control systems for King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia.

The firm will provide 3,000 sets of water chilled fan coil units and 21 TW series double skin air handling systems. Concealed fan coil units, air cooled condensing units, single skin air handling units and ducted split systems are also part of the contract.

The TW series systems will control temperature, enthalpy, airflow, humidity, pressure and CO2 levels. The sets are 17.6 metres in length and 5.6 metres high. Units of the series have steel GI outer skins and aluminum inner skins.

The KAUST campus, which is located 80km north of Jedda, is scheduled to be completed in September 2009.

Zamil Air Conditioners executive vice president Osama Bunyan said: “We are pleased to become an integral partner in the mission to establish KAUST as a world class educational research institution.”
