Australian fashion brand City Chic has announced plans to open a trio of new stores in the UAE, making its range of plus size clothing available to customers in the region for the first time.
Brought to the UAE by Marka Holding, the UAE’s first publicly listed retail operator, City Chic’s three new stores will be located in Al Naeem Mall, Ras Al Khaimah, Festival City, Dubai and Sahara Centre, Sharjah.
“We are delighted to have partnered with City Chic to offer the latest fashion styles for the region’s discerning plus-size ladies. This exciting brand brings glamour, elegance and bold sophistication to fuller-figured women across the region and we are proud to elevate the quality of this niche fashion segment across the region,” said Nick Peel, CEO, Marka.
Phil Ryan, president of City Chic added: “City Chic was established to bring the very best designed fashion garments to plus size women who have previously only had a minimal choice of uninspiring basics. Our philosophy bucks the trend of conservative and staid plus size styles typified by plain t-shirts and leggings in stretchy materials and dark colours.”
The Australian fashion retailer in sizes 14+ has expanded its portfolio from seven in 2006 to more than 100 stores, with the brand now having a presence in the US, New Zealand and South Africa as well as the Middle East.
